Glen Davis was brought up on Cape Breton Island, N.S. He received his B.A. in Greek and philosophy from McGill University and his B.D. (M. Div.) form the Presbyterian College at McGill. He later did postgraduate studies at the University of Chicago and the Toronto School of Theology, receiving his M.Th. from Knox College at the University of Toronto. His thesis was On "Liberation Theology as a potential model for developing an indigenous theology in the Korean christian Church in Japan". He also holds a D.D. from the Presbyterian College in Montreal.
After serving in six summer student charges, Glen Davis and his wife, Joyce, served as missionaries of The Presbyterian Church in Canada with the Korean Christian Church in Japan for 15 years. He is fluent in both Korean and Japanese.
Glen and Joyce Davis returned to Canada where appointed Secretary for Mission Education (4 years), Secretary for International Ministries (9 years) and General Secretary of the Life and Mission Agency (5 years) all in he national office of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. He and Joyce were then called as co-ministers of Knox Presbyterian Church in Agincourt (Toronto) where they worked for seven years. More recently, Glen has done consulting work with an ecumenical mission organization in Japan and served as interim minister in Uxbridge, Ontario.
In 2000 Glen Davis was elected Moderator of the General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. He has been theme speaker at countless mission events, youth conferences and retreats, and has written many articles for various church publications.
