Best Practices Conference
We Canadian Presbyterians often import experts to tell us how to “do church.” Mostly they are from the US and often are from different theological traditions. Many of them are excellent and helpful speakers. But Canada is not the US and we all know that the Presbyterian Church in Canada is very much its own peculiar institution. We have churches and ministers who are doing remarkable work. St. Andrew’s Hall has invited a number of successful and effective ministers from Canadian Presbyterian Churches across our country to share with us what they have been doing. Here are some of the speakers:
May 15 -16, 2008
- Glen Soderholm, Rockwood ON, worship leader
- Andrew Allison, Leaskdale, ON, church growth
- Terry Hibbert, Coquitlam, building programmes
- Beth McCutcheon, Toronto, combining congregations and moving
- Christine O’Reilly, Thedford, ON, rural ministry
- Douglas Rollwage, Charlottetown, PEI, conflict in the church
- Richard Topping, Montreal, healthy theology for healthy churches
"Getting a Grip: Theology and Church Life" by Richard Topping
The Presbyterian Faculty of St. Andrew’s Hall/VST will also lead workshops
- Elders’ education with Roberta Clare
- Understanding Mission with Glen Davis
